"No one cares how much you know, until they know how much you care."

Healthy mind. Better life.
Licensed Professional Counselor
Are you struggling with stress, anxiety or depression, grief or loss, accepting or understanding your identity, needing change, or wanting to get past personal trauma? If so, you are not alone. In life we all deal with challenges that are difficult to handle, especially on our own. I am a trained, independently licensed professional who is here to help you though the storm. I truly believe that when we take the time to ensure we have a healthy mind, we build a better life for ourselves and those we care about.
I graduated from Arizona State University with a BA in Psychology in 2007 and a Master of Counseling in 2010. Since 2009 I have worked in community mental health in the greater Phoenix area, providing mental health care to clients of all ages, dealing with a multitude of different challenges and struggles. I became a Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) certified clinican in 2021 through the EMDRIA and have additional extensive training in working with complex trauma. I have further experience in working with identity issues, grief and loss, stress management, anxiety, depression, LGBTQ specific issues, and life transition/change. I'm excited to now be working in private practice, where I can utilize my experience to help clients reach their goals and overcome things that have gotten in the way of their happiness.
My Approach to Therapy
I believe that therapy provides a way of gaining honest insight and understanding of one’s own process and path and that through this each of us can identify ways of reaching our goals, overcoming barriers, and finding happiness. To me therapy is the development of a relationship that provides support and understanding to foster the development of skills that will help you navigate life's challenges.
Life can be challenging, but it's more difficult when you have to face it alone. My intent is to walk with you on this journey. In my over ten years of experience as a counselor I have developed a client-centered approach to therapy that builds on your personal strengths, insights and understanding in order to help you move towards what you envision for yourself, your life and your future. While change can be difficult, change is quite possible, as long as you are willing to put in the work.
